Mike McFerron has years of experience in audio recording and production. Since 2015, he has collaborated with American international competitive figure skating coach Diana Lapierre to create competitive figure skating program music for her children, Catherine-Charlotte Lapierre and Iain Sebastien Lapierre. These accomplished skaters have used Mike's routines in competitions, and Catherine-Charlotte has competed in International Skating Union (ISU) competitions in Poland representing FSA Warszawa since 2017. Catherine-Charlotte also qualified for the Polish Advanced Novice National Championship, finishing the 2019-20 season nationally ranked #2 in Advanced Novice and recently won the Junior Ladies at the Zawody o Lampe Gornicza 2021 in Katowice, Poland, the Halloween Cup 2021 in Bydgoszcz, Poland and she has qualified for the Polish Junior National Championships in Cieszyn, Poland. Skating to Mike's mixes Iain Sebastien, who recently qualified to compete at the Polish Advanced Novice National Championship representing FSA Warszawa, is currently ranked #5 in Poland in Advanced Novice. Iain and Catherine-Charlotte also currently skate as pairs partners to music prepared by McFerron.

About

McFerron's music has received critical acclaim and recognition. His music has been performed by the Remarkable Theater Brigade (Carnegie Hall), the Louisville Orchestra, the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, and Cantus among many others.

McFerron is also a recording engineer and coordinates the music production and recording program at Lewis University, where he is a professor of music. He also is the founder and co-director of Electronic Music Midwest (http://www.emmfestival.org).

McFerron serves on the board of the directors for the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra and is a past Chair of the Executive Committee for the Society of Composers, Inc. McFerron's music can be heard on numerous commercial recordings as well as on his website at http://www.bigcomposer.com.
